1999 Defender 110 Td5 SW Caledonian Blue

Winter mods - Heated Seats & Mirrors

For winter I am planning on retro fitting heated seats and heated mirrors to my TD5
When fitting heated seats, do you have to remove the original seat base and back covering in order to fit the elements? Or can you slip the elements between the cover and the foam?

Heated seats will be on two switches (Passenger and Drivers side.) and the Mirrors, will be on one switch.
I have seen a few suppliers for both, but are there any to avoid (Send PM if you prefer) 1999 Defender TD5 110

For the seats you are going to have to remove the covering completely before setting the heat pads in place.

Something on my list to do.

As for the mirror they are well worth the effort

Is this an awkward job or are the base covers clipped in ? 1999 Defender TD5 110

The Genuine TD5 heated seat switches are really expensive from Land Rover, if you want to go that route look out for used ones on Ebay.

Alternatively use Puma ones which are a 10th of the price but will have to be fitted on their sides in the TD5 dash.

Would Discovery 2 or Freelander heated seat switches fit a TD5 Defender dash?
