Improved sound from standard speaker locations?
Hi all,
In the process of adding a new DAB radio, Bluetooth etc etc as well as 4 new speakers and a slim sub. Got as far as an initial sound test last night (without sub) and even with the new speakers its still very tinny and no base! so...

I have added the rear MUD speakers housings and used the original fronts.. now I know the sub will help but is there anything on the market or that I could try and make that would improve the sound?

Or is it back to basics with some MDF trying to make a housing for behind the speakers/trim?

btw, whole vehicle is Dynamat'd.

Cheers
Nick

it makes a huge difference covering the tweeters on the dash with your hand, i have a function on my new head unit to turn the tweeters down, the speakers under the dash are pretty good really, give it a try and cover both tweeters

you have a v8, why would you need a radio? Wink

does your head unit have a treble and bass control function? (or even a graphic equilizer) then lower the treble in increase the bass if you don't fit the sub. After you fit the sub this may have to be totally reversed by upping the treble setting and lowering the bass setting to compensate for the sub doing its job and to get a balanced sounding audio system.

hope this helps

Boxes is the only way I'm afraid. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Under the dash they have an air space to create sound, bot in the back is minimal. Also enlarging the speakers will make a difference as they will move more air, but hold of until you have rigged the sub up, then you will see what you have to work with. Thumbs Up
