Back in a defender
Well 2 years ago i sold my 2004 Td5 defender which iv regretted ever since it went!

Here she was all cleaned up

Crying or Very sad

Anyway heres the new toy

She is a 1985 B reg thats had a 300tdi transplanted from a disco, r380 gearbox and 24 spline axles so she drives really well, its on 33" tyres, puma bonnet and has a mantec snorkel, it had a respray 12 months ago but as it has been used for green laning it is a bit tatty!

Plans are..

Wide arches
2" lift
New indicator lenses as there cracked
Td5 grill and light surrounds
New chequer plate on the wings as its a bit tatty
Needs a wheel bearing on the rear
Sump re seal

And the job thats got me really thinking is having it resprayed and returned to its standard blue colour? Thoughts?

Maybe its the light reflecting making it look different to my Puma's, but is that a LR made Puma bonnet? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Replaced the rear wheel bearing saturday, all went really well but strait after i did a 20 mile motorway journey, got to where i wanted to go but there was a very strong oil smell! Oil was coming out of the flange seal and the hub seal on the rear axle Evil or Very Mad

After asking speaking to a few people it was suggested my diff breather was blocked! And hey presto it was blocked solid, iv cleaned the oil off and it hasnt returned but my rear brake pads are covered in oil!

Here was the inside of the wheel

Still got treated to a good clean today

Thanks mate!

Just worked my consumption for its first tank of fuel, 240 miles to £53 which equals 28-29 mpg! I know its not accurate as its running 33 inch wheels but im really happy with that Very Happy
