Wiring route
I am trying to get a cable from a new auxiliary fuse box under the passenger seat up to my CB which is mounted between the radio and instrument binnacle (Early TD5, no centre dash panel). I thought it would be dead easy to go up from the fuse box by the gear lever and into the void behind the centre switch panel....not so. And I have tried from both directions, Is there an easy way that I am missing or is it necessary to dismantle most of the trim?

I would go out of the seatbox, follow the main power cable on top ofthe chassis rail, up to the engine bay, then route up to by the heater, follow the heater cables across the top of the bulkhead, then through the (large) rubber grommet and "into" the dash area behind the speedo/instruments.

You can then pull the cable along to anywhere you want behind the dash.

trying to get a cable up with the existing loom into the fusebox is difficult as it's so tightly packed in there.

I used an old CB aerial and fed it down with wires and then using tape, taped the first wire to the aerial and then pulled the wire up and then repeated with the 2nd one. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Thanks. I am going the route suggested by diesel_jim. I have recced it, need a bit more convoluted tubing to go this way and will run in an extra one at the same time for future use I think.

Very Happy
