Courtesy light on overhead DVD player.
Hello all,

I am currently installing an overhead DVD player in my defender and it has inbuilt courtesy lights. BUT, they work by having switched 12v live feed. The problem is the defender circuit is a switched negative.

Is there a way round this problem or should I just live without the courtesy lights in the DVD player? (This would be a shame as I thought it was quite a nice touch to the install.)

Thanks in advance

Jim

Use a 4 pole relay

Earth from door switches to one side of coil, permanent feed to the other

Cheers. That works great. Although I might sack it off later on because the relay buzzes as the courtesy light fades. I will have to see whether I can hear it once it is under the headlining

Off Topic a really nice olive green 110 Dc t shirt arrived in the post today, ordered via your website. Thumbs Up
