United Kingdom 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Stornoway Grey
Exhaust manifold loose
Over the years there have been many threads and posts about leaks and other problems with the Puma exhaust, with leaks between the manifold and turbo probably being the most common. My 07 Puma has a slightly different problem and I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had, and hopefully solved, this problem.

About once a year the branch of the manifold to no 1 cylinder works loose, with the usual odd farting, squealing, and other noises. Tighten it up, and all is well for the next year/25k miles or so.

I am wondering if it would be worth going down the Nord-Lock route to try to effect a permanent cure.

The manifold to turbo joint, oddly, has never given trouble.

Is it worth decatting to reduce under-bonnet temperatures?
