Found out neither rear doors are locking/unlocking on the central locking. Door looms broken again

Last week I have imported my 1999 trailer from Belgium. The poor thing has been sitting there garaged unused and just gathering dust since we left the country many years ago. Decided it was time to bring it here, which is quite a procedure.
As we are not allowed to tow a non Swiss registered trailer with a Swiss car, and as we as Swiss are not allowed to drive any foreign registered car here on Swiss grounds I had two options. Either rent a Swiss flatbed trailer to go and carry back my Belgian trailer which is prohibitively expensive, or drive it over here with a Belgian car with the owner of the car present. My wife's sister came to the rescue, so two weeks ago I first had the trailer checked by the manufacturer, replace the wheels and tires and the coupling by new, and then drive it over here and officially import it. All ready to go here. Click image to enlarge After importing it, within 2 days you get a letter in the mail that you have to make an appointment for the technical inspection of an imported vehicle, and this inspection has to take place within max 30 days from date of import or everything later becomes very complicated here. Normally takes 3 weeks before they give you an appointment, but I was lucky, got it for yesterday morning. Was allowed to take the shortest route from home to the tech inspection with my Swiss Defender and the trailer without any registration plate. So here I am for my 7.55AM appointment yesterday. Click image to enlarge First remark from the inspector was that my hook is illegal in Switzerland. Even if this is a genuine LR accessory, these towing jaws with a removable pin are only homologated in Switzerland for agricultural vehicles with max speed 40 kph. The inspector in a very friendly manner told that even if a few years ago my truck passed its periodic inspection with that hook, next time it probably would not be that case anymore as regulations have further tightened up on this. Told him no problem, will go back to standard when back at home. Click image to enlarge Which as law abiding Swiss I did. 
Click image to enlarge The inspection of this simple single axle non braked 750KG max trailer still took a good half hour, including checking E marking of all the lights, details of all the tires, measuring everything, weighing it, checking all electric wiring and eventual play in the hubs, and of course matching chassis number and other tech info with my original invoice, which I luckily still had kept in Belgium. Anyway, the only remark was that even if I have the white colored forward placed lights on both mudguards, there were two white colored reflectors missing in the front. Told him I would go and get those today, so he gave the trailer a pass without any remarks. I almost got in trouble when he saw as part of the import docs stamped by customs the picture of the trailer with its tarp cover. That normally has to be inspected too. Luckily he let that go as it was standard trailer height only. Next was to walk over to the office and get its Swiss license plate. After passing the inspection, getting the license plate is easy, as they can then start to charge you road tax. All said and done now, proud owner of a fully Swissonised Belgian trailer.

That's a crazy amount of hassle. But then I've seen some junk being towed in the UK before now, so it makes sense, kinda.

Honestly, that one with the removable pin I bought as a genuine LR accessory from my dealer many years ago, but already at that time in the printed Defender accessories brochure there was a footnote saying that it was not legal for Switzerland, only for certain EU countries. Dealer also mentioned it to me. At the last technical inspection the SVX passed with it, but most likely the inspector just did not pay attention to it. Now that I arrived with a import trailer hooked up, it obviously was the first thing the inspector saw.
Yes, we pay annual road tax here for everything, so also for a 750 kg gross weight trailer. It was a good decision to import this trailer, as it is still like new after 19 years, total import cost, inspection included was les than 300 CHF. A new one of this quality here will cost easily 3000 CHF or more. Eric You never actually own a Defender. That does look very strict Eric, must be due to local based laws only and a contradiction really on wording.
As both tow ball types are tested to the best of my knowledge, going without removes a great recovery point but I suppose the law is the law there.
Today I've been buying prop shaft nuts and bolts, prop shaft removal tool and a 9/16" el cheapo spanner and a 9/16" Wera Joker spanner. (This one more a want than a need.) It seems my vibration / grating sound issue is back, sporadically despite my attempts to correct wheel balancing as being possibly the issue. (Not the problem, but Dynabeads I don't regret anyway.) 
So I need to get the rear prop off, I'm sure it's in that area as the pinion oil seal has started a bit of a leak too. UJ's seem okay, to my eye and checking as best I can. (But I'm no expert.) Im going to have to see if the pinion drive shaft bolt has worked loose, as I'm also getting a gearstick wobble especially in 1st gear. Checking underneath, there isn't anything evdidently wrong and it seems worse and more likely to happen cold than warm. Rear prop knuckle to rear diff, UJ's and rear diff nose seem warm to the touch, more so than the prop to hand brake drum and front prop. This is why I'm wondering about the pinion bolt working loose in the diff nose area and the leak as we'll. Roads are pretty rough and take a beating at the back. It's all fun. Well, not today, but last weekend. Three boats to launch - what to use? The Defender! Same goes for the recovery - a good work-out for the low box/diff lock lever.
