From around 2013 the purple wire was deleted from the standard loom. To re-create the arrangement, it's necessary to tap into the constant live that forms part of the towing electrics. This is typically concealed behind the plastic flap that protects the rear of the lower lights at the back of the wheel arch.

Alternatively, you can run a separate feed directly from the battery box, which is what I've done:

Just got round to doing this today, I've found the 12v supply behind the dirt cover I just need to know what type of connector this round one is to do the job properly/neatly. I could just cut it and crimp a wire to it but I'd rather keep it reversible and correct. It was fitted with a red plastic bung.

Car is a 2001 td5 90 csw FYI

It could be a bullet connector but I'd still be tempted to cut it off and extend it with a soldered joint up into the rear of the light cluster. Darren

Have followed this thread and installed an accessory socket as described which all went well,

Problem I have is there seems to be a significant voltage drop somewhere between the 20 amp fuse and the accessory socket,

At the fuse it registers 12v but at the trailer socket it registers 6v also 6v at the accessory socket? the trailer socket operates correctly,

Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds like you've got an earth fault somewhere. Unfortunately, it's time to get the multimeter out and start checking continuity. Darren

i need to tap off the tow bar loom under the the rear of the car. My question is what is the easiest way to get my feed into the inside of my 110 CSW?

Have to say I was somewhat disappointed to find I did not have spare purple and black wired connector behind the trim panel.

Up through the rubber grommet in the top of the wheelbox behind the rear lights.

I'm very surprised that you haven't found the purple wire. My old '05 110 station wagon certainly had it. Darren

Here is my approach to get permanent live from a Puma's 13-pin tow loom:

Perfect! Love this forum.

We've just been walking the dog and planning our trip up to the western isles in a couple of weeks and saying how nice it would be to have an electric coolbox in the back of our 2010 90 SW. Said I'd look it up and lo-and-behold: this thread!

I've got one shot to fit it on the morning of the 12th, so need to order everything in advance.

Sadly, Erik's pics in the original post have disappeared - does anyone have an archive set of photos?

I think all I need to order are:

1) EYQ100130 (plastic rivets) - ORDERED (am fitting rear speakers at the same time, so expecting these to break)
2) A suitable 12v socket, this one looks perfect and is mentioned above https://www.flatdoguk.com/showdetails.asp?id=1439
3) some suitable wire
4) Four M5 (?) countersunk bolts and nuts (already have)
5) spade connectors/crimps/tools - ALREADY HAVE.

Is there an idiot's guide anywhere to making this come on with the ignition so I don't get a flat battery? I saw the one post above with a relay which looked neat, but I'm a numpty when it comes to electrics.

These threads are great but a picture is a great help ....its a shame that there could not be a way of keeping all the pictures on a sticky thread.?

For some reason, some folks seem to delete their pictures after a while, which is pretty frustrating. Darren
