Finally received my Defender and I am like a child in a candy shop. I know that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but I honestly think she is beautiful. Keswick Green, Black in the right places, discreet yet imposing, simple, yet comfortable. She will receive RDX led lights shortly, which look like the originals and the Nolden dark chrome headlights. I have posted a few pics in my gallery- I am still a beginner in the forum so am figuring all this forum stuff out.

The story of this Defender is as follows. My father instilled the Land Rover passion in me as a child and today he drives a 1963 Series which he rebuilt from scratch, (now that I know how to post pictures, I think that his looks even better than mine), my sister drivers a Disco III and now after 10 years without a Landy, I have my 110.
Based on my fathers Series, I was looking for a Series too, and had shared this with my friend and colleague Eric (Ericvv). One day Eric came down to say hi - he had a big energetic smile on his face saying, "you have to see the Land Rover Defender Hunter Edition". I did, and the decision to buy one was instant. The purchase of this vehicle had nothing to do with reason - I have six kids, so despite its size, I can not justify it as a family car. The purchase of this Defender was the child in me that overcame the adult in me. As we discover the vehicle, I enjoy seeing the kids being fascinated by the role up windows, them wanting to sit in the back, trying to understand why there are two gear shifts, watch me manually adjust the mirrors, etc. I understand that this Defender will never be a reasonable car, but it will always be a source of amusement, sharing and discovery. When I informed my wife that I was going to have a Dinitrol treatment done for rust protection, she said, "it doesn't come protected already?" 
In this day and age, where everything is automatic, where you seem so protected and where many things seem easy or done for you, where GPS replaces the need to read maps, and where you feel that working on a car can only be done by a garage, it feels so good to have a bit of the past in your driveway. I look forward to any pointers, advice and answers to the questions that I will have for the forum members and I hope that I will meet some of you on outings, trips or overland experiences. I think she is ''limited edition'', am i wrong? If she is, then you have to change nothing to her. Just enjoy her

@ Familymad - Yes I do - one of the reasons I cracked at first site  do you hunt too?
@ BM52 - Thank you @pouf - Thank you for the welome. You are right- she is limited to 25 pieces in Switzerland. Thank you for the advice, I am not planning on too many mods and even the wheel choice was influenced by my desire to make her look classic At present I am only planning lights change, adding a wheel carrier and do the dinitrol anti-rust treatment.
@Kraut - I will post some interior pics tonight. As a hunter, I chose the 5 seat edition, the gun safe, dog guard and all leather seats. @geobloke - instead of using the old adage, "great minds think alike", for Defenders, we should say, "great hearts feel alike." @tookaphotoof - Thank you for the |

Is the Swiss hunter edition exactly the same like the Blaser edition in Germany? Look quit the same, as the plates on the back are the same as on mine your one is probably build/upgraded at Startech/Brabus by LR too?

@Kraut - Yes it is prepared by Startech in DE and was inspired by the Blaser. I will post some pics of the inside of mine tonight. @Steve E - Thank you @Cakey - I need to repaint the shutters - they will definitely be repainted Keswick Green
