strange loss of power ?
anyone had this before and did it lead to something worse?

started the engine this moring and left it running for perhaps 1 minutes while scrapping a little ice off and then pull off the drive, engine revs pick up in 1st then into 2nd and the revs died as if some kind of limp mode??

I put the clutch down and revs picked up fine and then no further problems - most peculiar ??

bit of diesel gelling momentarily clogging the fuel pickup perhaps? Once the warm return fuel got into the tank, no more gelling?

I would chuck in a bottle of diesel cleaner just to make sure. --

thanks Naks,

could be as you've suggested but although cold today its been colder recently and I'm on the same tank of fuel. re diesel cleaner I'm happy that I don't need anymore of that but what I will do is drain the fuel filter off again (not done that for a wee while)......... Confused

I find it's only really in 1st and 2nd gear. Foot down and momentarily nothing and then bang all the power comes hard. But only when cold and accelerating hard say out of a junction. Does it once and that's it. Also rare to happen but does occasionally. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Sounds similar to mine - a momentary hesitation when the throttle is suddenly opened. Most noticeable when changing up, ie throttle open, ease off to shift, then back on throttle and a momentary flat spot as the power comes back.

It's not EGR or map related, but replacing the fuel filter has made a significant improvement. Old filter had a surprising amount of waxy greaselike gunk in it.

Steve. worry = caterham Shocked

not sure if we're talking the same thing here. I wouldn't describe as momentarily, it was like a couple of seconds not just a blip.

I still don't see it being any thing serious but more interested in trying to understand what caused it....fuel supply seems like the answer.....must pull my finger out and drain filter for strarters.
