Defender 130 rear view camera
Anyone has a Defender 130 with a rearview camera? Would like to know where you guys have mounted it. Think it's best to one of those as I almost ran over a small city car trying to reverse the 130. Completely missed the car behind me. Not a real problem if I'd hit that one, but I don't really like the idea of bumping into a cyclist or a kid.

SGH is the man you want to ask. has two! one for reversing and another for hitching trailers on.
mine is treated as a pick up so i never have a canopy on it. view is pretty good.

What HeadUnit do you have? If it's a premium brand then it would make sense to look their direction. If it's a standard LR unit then perhaps the site sponsor could help. (I can't remember their name now) Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

I have the standard Alpine fitted now, but will probably change for one with a flip screen. My main problem is I have no idea where to mount the camera at the back. If the licence plate was in the middle, I'd probably put the camera there. Now it would be way offset to the left.

Mick - Perhaps the same site sponsor. I still cannot remember what it was called. T.P.S Or something was it?????

tookaphotoof - Do you have a rear ladder? That would be an option all be it offset. Failing that personally if it was one that looked nice I would mount into the area just above the rear door another forum member had this done and it functioned and looked good. Also please excuse me if you knew already but you can have it set up so that when you select reverse gear it will automatically display on the Head Unit screen and when out of gear back to normal again. Personally myself they are a nice accessory but I've never seen enough justification between usefulness vs price in my opinion. That said I drive a 90 so less of an issue.

Im fitting a rear view camera to my 110 this year, one to the back of my 110 and one on the back of my caravan.

I dont have a rear wiper so Ive removed the rear wash nozzle, which is where I intend to bolt the camera. Im going to use an LCD display that clips over the rear view mirror, but one that has reflective qualities and acts a a rear view mirror itself. Not too worried about how effective it will be as a rear view mirror as I dont use mine anyway, seeing as the washer nozzle has been removed my rear window is too dirty to see through.

I've been looking at some over on Action Cameras - they now have one that is Wireless enabled and can use an iPhone or Android device to display the pictures as well as recording in a loop everything that happens... 2013 Aintree Green 110 Station Wagon SX

Not sure how long you can wait Rolling Eyes but I've run a cable to the rear of the FCX130 ready for the rear camera that will be hooked up to the Alpine head unit.

My current idea is to have it low down probably on the rear cross member but I've left plenty of slack with the idea of having it working and getting an associate to hold it in different positions whilst I viewed the screen

Always fancied one but never got round to it,had a RR for a few days recently that had one and I didn't like it preference to use the mirrors and stick me head out although I did back into a bush the other week Embarassed so parking sensors might be an option if anyone has fitted those Thumbs Up

Not in too much of a hurry as I'll have to leave for Hongkong and Singapore for two weeks.
Anyways, I'm thinking it will be a pain if I want to back up to a trailer if the camera is way offset.
It would be easier if I'd have a hardtop instead of the 'tent', as I would simply bolt in on there.
Do like the tent style if only for the dogs during summer. I want to be able to drive around with the back rolled up.

Although this is on my 110. Great for hitching trailers, more than adequate for reversing generally.

Here's a suggestion; wire everything up, loosely (wires dangling outside of the car) and ask someone to move it around by hand while you look at the screen.
