sorry, its an early 1990 90 defender, they are 4" (100mm) fronts. i've bought the genuine land rover fitting rings, but with the wiper motor behind the n/s speaker, it doesn't look like i can get much in there

Buy 4 lots of spacer rings and fit two per side mate, does the trick and still looks like a factory finish

They are at work, but guessing the rings are only half an inch deep

Never had a problem with mine on standard LR rings. I'll try and measure the old speakers depth for you tomorrow. Just fitted 130Vrs vocals in mine. They are shallow mount with a tweeter and well worth the money. The tweeter alone will totally change the sound , if I could only do 1 mod to the set up that would be it. I'm sure the 100 mm focal K2 's are a direct fit or the coaxial integrated. Like I say I'll measure tomorrow for you and post some pictures when I'm on the laptop

Try these: http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/in-car-...-deep.html A few on that link please check the sizing that you'd require. As you can see there is a deep version. ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/π¬π§πΊπΈ\____ _//*β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°*\\_ |

Measurements as promised. Old speakers were 50 mm deep, and fitted without a speaker ring.
I then put the original speaker ring and grill over the top to retain the factory finish. These rings are made on a slant which measures 15mm narrowest and 22mm at the widest point. So using these rings potentially you could get a 65mm deep speaker in no worries. Heres a bad picture but will give you an idea Click image to enlarge I have recently upgraded to 130 (5") focal VRS which are 48.5mm deep and again fit without speaker rings. They are infact a tighter fit on drivers side. Click image to enlarge better sound due to larger cone, and are a tight fit. Biggest advantage is the addition of the tweeter which lifts the sound stage. Here is a picture showing what is behind that end cap. It is realativly easy to remove 4/5 screws then pull out and down. It has a couple of locating dowls. Click image to enlarge Hope all that helps |
