Funny tyre wear
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

I have just had my front tyres replaced (at 22k miles) and the drivers side showed 5 or 6 patches of wear evenly spaced around the circumference - between the patches there was a fair amount of tread left, but at the worn spots it was non-existant (no I haven't been skidding!). The passenger side was far better but was just starting to show the same pattern. The tyre man said he had seen it before on Landies occasionally but didn't know what caused it.

They are the tyres fitted as standard on my '08 130 - Michelin XZL 7.50R16s I believe.

Also, I thought we were supposed to have progressed to tubeless these days but mine had tubes in, even though the tyres say tubeless on the sides!

Have you had the car from new,if not the front tyres could have been on the back with the diff lock engaged on the road causing uneven wear. 2.4 90 XS

I deflated one of my XZLs yesterday and can confirm that there is no innertube. I only left them on for 2k and then swapped them for BFG AT. Far better around corners, especially in the wet. 130 crew cab
