Dealer info 2015
My dealer tells me today that he's just back from head office and they are confirming that new model will be released second half 2015 . The current 2.2 will not change and be available on a March reg 15 plate . Gone will be all the regular LR features like sharp corners and hard bumpers and open rivets and bolts and the like . Hmmmmmm ! Not something I look forward to . But perhaps you guys know more than me and that's all just scotch mist ?

There simply isn't time to bring it to market by then. 2 years to finalise a platform, build, test, type approvals etc etc.

15 plate Defenders might be the last (of the type we know and love) but I doubt we will se the new model on a 65 plate.

If it is going to be ready anytime near then it is definitely going to be on a T5 platform with the existing engines available in the disco which would be no bad thing.

Like it or not you'll hear about it from a mag like autocar long before a dealer knows jack.. Not being negative just the fact that the motoring press get more reliable and early data out of LR than any dealer out there.

Cheers

I thought that date matched the previously released model timeline? So what's changed - just surprised that same 2.2 engine will be kept.

Interesting to hear Gerry McGovern, Design Director for Land Rover, talking about the new RRS being revolution rather than evolution. Maybe an indication of where they will be taking the new Defender?
