United Kingdom 2005 Defender 110 Td5 DCPU Zambezi Silver
Defender double cab speakers for rear
Just thought I would share this.

I have been after a good speaker solution for the double cab in the rear and was about to spend. £300+ to have a box fabricated under the rear bench seat.

Then

I saw JBL Control 1 on eBay for £59 free delivery. They're a domestic speaker but work fine with car audio in fact better than most 6x9 s I've ever had. They're also built solid and I've whacked them by accident with the sledge hammer and bolt cutters that live under the back seat too and they are well robust.

Would you believe they just fit snugly under the rear seat and sound fantastic, showed to my audio guy and he's ordered three sets and rang three customers with the same desire to have some bass and clarity in the rear of the double cab.

Highly recommend, with some good replacement speakers in the front (I have Rockford fosgate punch) the sounds are truly amazing.....

Brilliant!
That's a great idea. Have had the same dilemma with my DC. Talked to companies about making a mdf case for some , but the cost was enormous! A couple of questions. How have you secured the JBL speaks in the back. Second question, have you installed a source of Bass/amp to run it all. Photos would be greatly appreciated. Mike
