Knock on effects?
Right so this being my first home-fitting I am a bit confused by what I may or may not have done. Although I'm convinced this isn't my fault (too proud of myself!!).

Fitted the HU a few days ago now, apologies for the terrible image quality but it had got a little dark when I finished. Took a bit longer than anticipated.

Now my driver's side electric window just doesn't work. I swapped the switch and checked it on the passenger's side and that worked fine so it's definitely not the switch. Is there any reason why my fiddling with my HU might have made the window stop working?

I recently had the rear fog light switch/light fixed by LR and from what I can tell that seems to go into the same wiring loom? Is it more likely that it was me or them?

Appreciate any advice!

From memory the switch loom is very close to the radio aperture, so I guess it's possible that you may have damaged it in some way or dislodged one of the connectors in the switch harness.

It's a bit too close to be a coincidence!

Did you disconnect the battery before starting work on it? If not you may have accidentally shorted something. Check the appropriate fuses for the items that aren't functioning properly.
Failing that and all is fine check the connections to the rear of the switches that nothing looks obviously broken. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

The connections to the back of the switch seemed absolutely fine, but I didn't disconnect the battery so that may be it. Where are the fuses and which is the one I'm looking for? This electronics business is all very new to me I'm afraid!

Fuses are behind a panel where your knees are when sitting in the driving seat

Turns out it was none of the above... A corroded wire in the door panel?!

Should have had a go yourself and saved your money if it was just a wire replacement. Thumbs Up Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

I'd have still paid above and beyond what it was worth for them to find out what the problem was... I needed it fixed quickly so I could let everyone outside my car hear my great new tunes! Thumbs Up
