There's quite a lot on the forum about this if you search but basically early Pumas were registered as Station wagons and are taxed at the higher rate, all later Pumas, station wagons, hard tops, the lot are registered as commercials and are all taxed at the lower rate.

I haven't heard of any one successfully changing the tax status Sad

For me owning a 2008 XS I am paying what tantamounts to a tax that was abolished 170 years ago but was reintroduced in the automotive world!

Big Cry The window tax was a significant social, cultural, and architectural force in the kingdoms of England, Scotland and then Great Britain during the 18th and 19th centuries. Some houses from the period can be seen to have bricked-up window-spaces (ready to be glazed at a later date), as a result of the tax.

Anyone got any mortar and bricks going spare? Laughing

I also am a car tax victim Crying or Very sad Sheep

Not only are current owners penalised for possession, but also if they want to sell, since the car tax will put off potential buyers. Banging Head Thud

Obviously not all buyers of second hand models are aware of the tax pitfall..... Whistle If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
