The technology exists to do these things remotely and several forum members have had success with it. I'd suggest making contact with them to discuss your needs. Darren

Lee,

You can get a remap from BAS remotely via PM/email/phone. I did it and Pete is one honest guy, I have done 2 deals with him over the phone and given him my credit card number.

How do you know your EGR is borked? Does it screech like a wounded cat when you switch off? While waiting for a remap, chuck in half a litre of 2-stroke oil, might help cleaning out the gunk. You can also remove the EGR from the engine bay and clean it using carb cleaner fluid.

Btw, how is GoG, I spent 10 years at Rhodes Cool

Why did you leave Land Cruiser? I was thinking of going over there myself! get myself a dual cab. I am kind of sick of my 130 falling to bits due to low build quality, sensors failing generating powerloss when I need power the most. The last flaw was a ridiculuous small spring on the clutch pedal, snapped and I got stranded. high repair costs. what Censored me off the most is I have spent much money in maintenance so it would be reliable, but it still fails. 137k km on it. its still practically new. I hate Land Rover right now. They are loosing their biggest enthusiast

Morning chaps. Naks, thanks for the long chat last night. You seem like a man that knows his stuff.Well, this morning I went over to the "General Lee" and unplugged the electrical plug on the EGR itself.Huge improvement on a short drive!!!!!!!!!! I did notice the MIL light DID NOT come on.Nacks,u mentioned that this is possible in some models? The cleaning cycle(5xchukas) did also not come around at switch of,but what i did hear was the normal beeping sound that goes with it usauly?? This move is only temporary. This weekend I will strip the egr and clean with carb cleaner and put back. THEN....THE SAVING WILL START AND WAITING FOR THE EXCHANGE RATE....to purchase the Mapping equipment from SHAX.

Did I miss anything chaps? Confused

Glad to read you should be coming to us for the remap interface. Thumbs Up

Re unplugging the egr, you may find after a few more drive cycles the mil ligts does come on. as said their is a very few that dont but most do come on in the end.

Cleaning the egr valve is always a help as well as much as you can of the inlet manifold.

Regards Pete
