Alarm/interiors.
Had my rear door open for two hours this afternoon to remove rear seats and when i went to lock the car with the remote the horn beeps twice and the deadlocks work but i now have no interior lights both manually or by the door switches. Anyone else had this and if it is a fuse i would appreciate its location and position. thanks. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

The rear door switch maybe a little sticky. I had the same recently only the complete opposite. The interior lighting not coming on. If it's the other way for you then the alarm would sound as the switch is in the position as if the rear door is still open. Hence alarm beeps. Cold weather and damp doesn't help. Have a look at the switch and free it up a bit and check it and you should be fine from there. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Every fuse removed and they are all fine. Still no interior lights front and rear and horn sounds twice on locking by the fob. The key activates the tumblers on the three doors but they pop back up again. Cleaned and adjusted the three interior light switches on the door pillars.... It sounds like the alarm thinks one of the doors or bonnet is open. I'd go around opening and slamming the doors and bonnet a couple of times then check the wires to the back of the pin switches and see if it makes a difference

Exactly what I was trying to say. All be it the rear door but all doors and bonnet switch do the same job. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

All interior switches are OK but the lights don't work at all. Noticed the key fob has paced in now... Could it be the battery? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

It would be worth changing anyway nothing to lose. They cost very little. Someone on here will probably know what battery type it is and where to get it from..
I bought some last year but I can't remember the type. Will have a look for you if I can find the packet. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Found the battery type: CR2032
Panasonic do them on E-bay I believe or other makes are probably available too. And also LR will direct but I don't know what the LR part number would be.

The scenario you are describing with the horn and the doors unlocking is consistent with a mislock. The cause of this happening is one of the sensors is going to ground causing a mislock which gives you the 2 horn blasts and the locks opening straight after you close them. The alarm cannot arm as it believes that one of the sensors is reporting an open circuit, ie door ajar etc. The only real way to test this is to use a diagnostic tool and read the events history and the inputs page of the 10AS. If the low battery warn is enabled in the 10AS then you will get a warning of the battery in the fob getting low so it would be worth changing the battery, though if it does the same with both fobs then chances are it is a sensor causing the issue unless both fob batteries are goosed. Does the Puma start and run OK, more than 5 mins at idle? How far away does the fob work? If the battery was low it would need to be very close to the vehicle to operate the lock/unlock. If you have the radio code do a hard reset by removing the battery negative terminal and press the brake pedal a couple of times to remove any stored capacitance, then wait 10 mins and then re attach the negative lead. Now try locking and unlocking the Puma and see if the fault persists. If it does then the best option is to get a diagnostic tool onto the 10AS and read the events history. As you are only 30 mins from me, I can always pop round this weekend and bring one of my tools to plug in and check the events history for you, if you get no joy locally. Thumbs Up

Thankyou Lorryman... All 3 door switches cleaned and working i think. Removed negative terminal and still no interior lights at all and horn beeps twice on locking via the fob. New battery to fob and i need to be a yard away to activate locks. Im stumped!! 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
