I’ve got the full alive comfort setup on my 90, whilst the ride height is good the bilstein damping is to to stiff imho. I don’t know what the OME shocks are like to compare. Since you’ve already totalled a set of springs I’d do your research before going all in. Unless it’s just a quality issue your looking to improve

The ride from the ome shocks is great, I was happy with the set up if the springs hadn't snapped so I'll see how these springs hold up and if they go wrong I'll try the alive ones Thumbs Up Ray

Something else to put on this week if I get some spare time.

I decided to stick a turret on at the same time as the slick shift as they can ware and make gear changes notchy so I might as well go for it. Ray

Ended up having to fit a new pipe from the power steering pump to the box on Friday Big Cry I think while it was loose the vibration must have fractured one of the joints, only noticed because with the rain lately Ive been leaving rainbows but it only dripped while turning the steering wheel and as I'd only checked it while the engine was running I hadn't noticed Embarassed When the mrs turned the wheel with the engine running the drip was obvious Big Cry Ray

I ended up changing the steering drop arm today. For a while it's felt like there's a slight delay on the steering so I got someone to turn the steering while I was underneath and there was quite a bit of play. I did ask a garage a couple of years ago to centre the steering wheel after I had a new steering box fitted and it looks like they achieved that by moving the drop arm on the box (which shouldn't be done) rather than the steering wheel on the column Rolling Eyes
The splines on the old drop arm don't look so cracky

At least the old arm came off easily with the play Rolling with laughter steering feels lighter now as I think the old arm was rubbing on the box so another bonus. I've just got to retighten it again a couple of times over the next few days as its on a taper and hopefully it'll be sorted Mr. Green Ray

The arm can only go on in a few positions (about 90 degrees apart) as there is a master spline, so that won’t have been what the garage did.

Often when the arm has been loose for a while and the vehicle has been driven the splines on the box or the arm, or both, get damaged and then the new arm won’t stay tightened up. Hopefully you won’t suffer this.

They really had put the drop arm on crossed, luckily it only damaged the drop arm splines. I've now put this arm on in the correct position with master splines matching and the steering wheel is about 45 degrees off centre. I cleaned all the splines up on the box side and they seem in good nick. Ray

My new spare wheel cover turned up the other day. The vinyl one that was on before just split and ripped when I had to put the spare on for the puncture last month. I decided to put a canvas one on this time so I didn't have the same problem if I need to change a wheel again at any time. Only thing was I couldn't find any good canvas wheel covers in England so I ended up ordering this from South Africa.

I was thinking about this too. Can you let me know if there was much difference after fitting and where did you get it/what the cost was?

I have just read your whole thread, top kudos to you Thumbs Up

Hi Danny, and thankyou Thumbs Up
There is a lot more car like feel with the slick shift, but of the reviews I read before ordering saying it transformed the gear shift I think most of the transformation is in adjusting the bias springs on the gear lever (which mine were already adjusted well) There's plenty of how to's on you tube for the bias springs so I'd recommend trying this before spending if your shifts aren't so good. Ray

Found a split in my airbox to turbo pipe the other week just under the jubilee clip at the turbo end.

Managed to buy a very good condition used one on eBay so got it swapped over today, I don't know if it made any difference or if the original was causing any problems but it's better to be safe than sorry Cool Ray

Cheers, will try that first then if that doesn't cure the wayward gear stick I may have to shell out for the slick shift.

Cheap fix first though Very Happy
