Germany 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Baltic Blue
Not clear whether the OP wants a "raised air intake" (for dust and spray) or a "wading snorkel" (cod fishing). When you're not going swimming (and most people don't), those drain holes play a rather important function...although the floor's wet all the time anyway Laughing Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

do remove the interior screen trim [2 x self tapping screws] and pull the wiring that runs up under the trim out of the way before you drill the holes for the RAI support.

Agree that's a good idea but if you have access to the rear, then why not fit ordinary bolts and nuts rather than rather ugly self tappers?

As far as I remember, there isn't much room in there for nut/bolt heads - the recess is a weird shape. Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Yes if you could get to the back of the screen it would be alot tidier if you put quality fittings.Totally agree, can you? Question

Thumbs Up
But I would still suggest tapping a thread, as it's easier to make a good seal (there's enough water getting through the frame as it is). Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
