Finally I have an update! lol

I managed to Censored up the back in a parking garage in France:

Finally time to tackle the inside..
Still a mess, maxtrax and camping chair suspended. Pull up bar is the black rod across the back. Also tracks were mounted in four places so that I can strap things down.

Unfortunately I had to fly back to NYC last minute, so the finished product is sitting in a parking lot for a bit, but I'll be back on the road and heading into Africa very soon..

Youve probably already thought of this...

Are you planning to put a cover on the jack? If not, you may want to consider buying one, especially as you are going to Africa. The grease on the pins picks up dust and sand and then jams just when you don't need it, so a cover helps. Also a wheel adapter for the hi-lift is a useful bit of kit. 5 mins with a hi-lift and sand/bridging ladders can save 30 min + of digging, even though you are probably dying to use your new spades Wink Wink

Do you have a bottle jack too? If not, these are a good investment. Hi-lift are great for recovery, but not so good for changing a wheel.

Lastly, are you taking some spare shocks? if not, given weight of a loaded 110, taking some spares would be a good idea.

Oh and one more Q, is there a reason why you didn't go for the clear LED stop/tail lights too instead of red lenses?

I suspect it's a looks thing.

Our Tony seems fairly particular about the aesthetics. Very Happy

Decals not quite right...
Driving back to the UK to repair a little dint...
Two shovels on the bonnet and only one person...
Wrapping a fridge in carbon...

Saying that, it does look bloody awesome.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't planning on a jack cover, just to be diligent in keeping it reasonably well lubricated and clean, but I will look into it.

I have an adapter for the jack that I think fulfills what you're calling a bottle jack, but can you give a bit more info or pics incase I'm mistaken?

Spare shocks I don't have, but I did upgrade to OME sport shocks front and back.. Also it's really not loaded with too much weight considering..

The LED's in red weren't really planned. Nene put them on that way and I asked why they weren't all clear and they said they could change them to clear no problem, but after sleeping on it I decided that the red was a bit more traditional and I actually liked it so I just kept them.

To be honest, there were a few things that Nene didn't finish in time when I left and I was planning on having them ship me a few parts that didn't come in on time and letting a shop in Spain do the remaining work, but they managed to miss putting in a kill switch, which I wanted done right so I decided to go back and just let them sort everything out. The dent happened, ironically enough two days before I got there.

The two shovels are really just for symmetry if Im honest. Also potentially someone can help me dig if need be.

The fridge was just because I had the carbon film already and I figured the fridge could use a little more insulation Whistle My Travel Page

This is bottle jack...


Much easier and quicker to change a wheel than hi-lift.

This is the hi-lift jack mate wheel adapter for lifting wheels for sand mats etc...

Just hammered it out and repainted the panel. I cant imagine how much of a PITA it would be to replace that rear quarter.. My Travel Page
