What do the foam strips do other than hold water?
Hi All

Please could anyone explain what the foam strips do along the door sills, other than acting like a great water trap!?

Thanks

I was wondering exactly the same thing. They seem to just be a dirt and water trap.

I've got some stainless door cill plates on order from Brendan at 4x4 Overlander.

I was considering cleaning it out and then running a neat bead of automtive grade mastic in there? Good/bad idea?
