Some good info on this thread Cool
Never really get that badder winters in zummerzet but you never know, my GG's have the Marks & Spencer logo and they have worked alright for me past, adjusting your driving style to suit helps most Wink Its mainly the other road users that are my concern Rolling Eyes

Yer tiz. Having traction control helps with GGs Wink Having said that in the big snow of 2009 (I had flu 2010), I coped with all snow on GGs except the top of a hill where snow had settled on ice sheeted road. A controlled reverse descent was slightly hairy but nothing too scary.

I think some tread compromise is necessary. Otherwise snowy mud & slush will render pure winter/snow tyres ineffective. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Glyn, totally OT (so my apologies) but may I ask where you got your rock sliders? They look to be just what I am after!

Thanks.

The sliders are MANTEC.............. great for doing the job- the only one down side is that the powder coating is like dandruff and I know a couple of other people who have had the same problem. I will be getting them sand blasted and re-coated when I get the chance. Would be an idea to get it done from new

Looks like Nokian offer 3 choices in size 285 / 60 x 18 for 4x4/suv https://www.nokiantyres.com/tyreselector/w...enger-car/

Many seem to run LT2 (including me) but that is the only model offered in standard 235/85 x 16

I went for the Rotiva A/T because of the load rating and Nokian reckoned they will be more than adequate for British winters so far so good
