MT82 Gearbox Breather
Does anyone know how the gearbox breather on a puma defender is connected at both ends? Also is it possible to remove and refit without taking the box out?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Erm it won't be easy but on a defender it is about 8-10 inch long and at the closest point to the engine it just pushes into a hole so it breathes into the bell housing
On the gearbox I'm using with my 3.2 engine it came with a breather from the gearbox that goes straight up to the. Front of he engine

I think if you can do it which you can I managed to before pull it out from the hole and uses a 6mm connector and make it longer Thumbs Up

If that's what your intentions are

Thanks Steve - any ideas about how the other end is attached? And could I get in there to remove it and refit later?

I need to check it's not blocked as I have oil blowing by the filler plug. (I have the correct amount of oil)

Thanks

Mark

Yerflat blade screwdriver under the black part and gently prize it out doubt it will be easy whilst it's in but should be possible Thumbs Up

Hi MK,

Tried a search but no luck. Can you give me the title of the thread you're referring to? Or a link?

Many thanks,

Mark
