abs tc
okay you might say not another thread on this, well my abs and tc lights have been on now for 2 years ,resetting the faults for the mot and 2-3 days later they would come back on,the strange thing is last night they went off by themselves,no i did not plug in to reset them, they just went off, they still light up when starting engine ,also i can now hear the abs block working when i approach a junction in second about 15mph all clear relese clutch to go and i hear the noise is this normal?

Laughing Question must be asked having run with the lights intermittantly 'on' for the last two years are you really that bothered they've now gone 'out?'

In answer to your question the ABS block noise you hear when approaching a junction is not normal. I have TC and ABS and have sufferred issues myself. I know how frustrating it can be but had them sorted whilst the defect was apparent. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Is this on a TD5 or TDCI?

I had the ABS/TC light appear on my TD5 and it turned out to be a poor earth in the seat box. LR have 3 earth pins in the painted seat box and hope that it will earth to the chassis in some way.

For me it was an easy fix, I ran a wire from the earth pins to the chassis and it was solved as easily as that.

They are in the seat box under the drivers seat.

They are under the ECU I believe. 2002 Defender 110 DC

This might help - the green circles show two of them in the floor of the seat box:
