Crankshaft rear main oil seal
Anyone on here replaced their crankshaft rear main oil seal? I was crawling underneath looking for the source of the latest leak and realised that mine could do with replacing (discharge of oil from the bottom of the bellhousing).

Is it easier to remove the gearbox or the engine (2007 Puma 110 DC)?

Also I noticed a very slight leak of PAS fluid from the vicinity of the PAS pump (and it's not the normal loose union problem) plus a very slight coolant leak from the vicinity of the coolant pump. Anyone changed either of these and have any tips?

Just gone 101,000 miles and a few leaks are inevitable I suppose, it's a Landrover after all.

Make sure it is not a overfilled gearbox. Puma 110" SW

It does appear to be sump oil not gearbox oil.

It's a lot harder to see where the PAS fliud leak is coming from! The pump just gets damp all over, rather than in any specific place. I can see this being tricky to pin down.

Just in case, gearbox oil should have some sulphur smell. Engine oil, well like diesel. Puma 110" SW
