Broader wheels, broader mud guard sizes for a XS
I've fitted Terrafirma wheel spacers for better turning circle & now my 255 85s stick out slightly from the side of my wheel arches. The body , widows, handles & passengers looking out get mud coated.

I'm moving the front mud flaps forward & using rear (= wider) flaps at the front. Because my XS has colour co-ordinated arches, I don't want to replace them with the wider black after market ones. Does anyone here know of any other product that would help?

How much difference would taking off the spacers make to turning & handling, they went on when I put the bigger wheels on, so have never tried without... Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. I fabricated a small section of plate that prevents the fling up. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Entreq does extended mud flap brackets. I had exactly the same issue and they cured it. Thumbs Up

Any pictures of how far your tires extend out of your arches?

What wheels do you have on and what offset do they have (or are they LR wheels with wider tires?

You are legaly allowed to have the tires stick out a little. It is the tread pattern that matters the most. My BFGs stick out a little but the tread is in-lin/ just inside the arches.

As above for mud-flap ideas Thumbs Up

Dropping a vertical line from the wheel arch/flare the tread of the tyre must be inside that line. The side wall of the tyre can be outside of that line.

We stock the Entreq Mud flap extension brackets. XS Pete has done a decent write up here here Thumbs Up

It can be a 'grey area' as the arches are 'wasted' and whilst you may not fall foul of the rule above at the 12 o' clock arch position the tryres protrude further and further round the arch you go. Anyone got the definitive answer? Not had any issues myself MOT time but think it may depend on the tester's interpretation. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

IIRC Fekete has some neat eyebrow extensions on his, so you retain the original body-coloured eyebrow and then add a small extension piece to its outside edge. I certainly remember seeing some on here somewhere, and think it was Fekete's 90. Don't know if he sourced them somewhere or made his own. May be worth a PM. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green
