Had mine done today at Duckworths...took 1 hour...side runners have to come off !

I'm a bit concerned about what collateral damage might get caused here. What part(s) exactly are the 'side runners'? Do you mean the steps?

According to my recall letter, some 110's and 130's are also affected.

Got my rear high level brake light sorted, and was told they had completed this recall as well. Was nice to see a bit of effeciency from a workshop, especially because I was also not aware of this recall.

Received the letter end of last week .... Will take it in next week Wednesday ... and while they are at it, they are welcome to also check this Censored stereo thing that simply just cuts out every now and then or stops working for a couple of days for no obvious reason and then suddenly goes back to normal as if nothing has happened ... still refusing to play any kind of self-recorded CDs - no matter what format, though ... Evil or Very Mad Best Regards,

Axel

Just had mine done. Took about an hour and the side steps did indeed have to come off.

A bit more info:

Recall reference: P025
Models: Defender (Including Defender 90 & 110 Chassis Cab, Truck Cab, Soft Top, Hard Top, Pick Up, High Capacity Pick Up vehicles and 130 Double Cab Pick Up).
Launch date: 08/08/2012
Numbers involved: 5987
Build start date: 01/02/2010
Build end date: 31/01/2012
Concern: SEAT BELT MOUNTING BRACKET MAY FAIL
Description: It has been identified that some seat belt mounting bracket bolt/studs maybe out of specification. The bolts may have suffered Hydrogen Embrittlement during their production. Occupants will normally notice the failure by the looseness or detached seat belt brackets. However, if the issue is not rectified, then the occupant will not be restrained in their seat if the vehicle is involved in a collision.
Remedial action: Recall all affected vehicles and replace the seat belt mounting brackets.

Well just had mine done on Friday and after having a look underneath they have added / changed a substantial metal plate that bolts to the floor and chassis rear outriggers. I,m not sure if the bolt sizes have increased, but there was a bit of swarf floating around the floor afterwards indicating the floor holes have been enlarged.

They also seem to have added some rubber pads between the outrigger and the new bracket.

I'm not sure if the previous plate conected to the outrigger or not, maybe somebody who has not had it done could say.

it took the garage about 20 minutes in all to complete the work.
I did take a pic but my old mac doesn't seem to want to allow me to upload it !

However the link below should take you to photobucket:
