£5 Leeds. That wouldn't even pay for a new cleat
Just found a Crabber for sale, it's up for £23.500 - decisions, decisions |

Pay off the debt. There will always be a decent (unscratched) Defender to get later.

Sounds to me like you are on the brink of a divorce !
Sell the boat and the Land Rover, pay off the debt, get a job, save up, sort out the kitchen and house - all very boring but there is nothing better than being debt free (manageable mortgage accepted) and once you are in that position listen to the Mrs before buying the next toy Alternatively ignore all this, lose the wife and along with her will go the boat, Land Rover/s, house, kids - I'm sure there are plenty on here that can relate to this .... |

I'm with GB above. Get rid of the debt first, sort the house out. If selling the newer Land Rover for an older one helps then sounds like a good place to start.
Messing about in boats is a luxury and in this economic climate better to be debt free than have millstones hanging round ya neck! |

No it's not that bad Matt, we've been together nearly 30 years Now the kids are in school full time I can work longer hours. The money I play around with is my own, saved not from work but buying and selling cars over 20 odd years plus a bit of inheritance. She works 4 days a week teaching and I work during the day in between school drop offs, so it doesn't give long. If we can get someone to do the school runs, make tea etc I can return to full time work but it wouldn't actually give much more of an income, Gardening projects are quite lucrative but sporadic, I sell planting plans also which is why I am on the computer quite a bit I have gardening rounds to fill in the gaps also. We are just coming out of the really tight bit when we have had the equivalent of one low income for 7 years as I looked after kids full time and worked weekends/evenings but we can start building things back up again.
I'm interested in full time work as gardening is great as it has flexible hours but at 46 I won't be able to do it forever and will be working all my life I should think in some form or another Last edited by Zagato on 18th Jun 2012 1:31pm. Edited 1 time in total |
