One for our Irish members regarding LR thefts.
Ladies and Gents of Ireland,

The following was posted on Landywatch this evening by a lad in the merseyside area who had his 110 pinched over easter....

Quote:
the firm i work for in liverpool had 2 mini diggers stolen on sunday night when i was talking to police i asked him ,where do all the decent landys get found. he said that alot are going to lreland. if they know tis why arnt they stopping it, or even pulling them over more often. i dont think anyone would be to put out knowing they are trying to stop this happening.

I was just interested to know if you folks are hearing anything along similar lines? Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

I doubt it .. defender sales very slow here at the moment and not that many decent ones about...

But will keep and eye out, as regularly check the classifieds etc, alot of older stuff goes for sale on a web site called www.donedeal.ie ...it use to be a good site but its had its day, as lots of pikies selling on it now !!
If they were breaking them to sell they would usually advertise on donedeal... and I have not see any "hot"parts come up

I should know on the look out for a puma bonnet !!

yes i was also told by the police that my stolen 110 ,could be destine for this ferry trip across the irish sea,but the landy may not leave the docks, most likley then shipped to the conintent ,this was told to me not buy the local plod who are only interested in giving out crime numbers, but by a inspector in the vehicle crime unit based in coventry who contacted me after the theft of my 110 in 2010

When my TD5 was stolen from Newton Abbot it was a scouser on his way back to the docks at Liverpool, he was only nicked because he fueled up at Strensham on the M5 and did a runner without paying The central Police unit were on him before Worcester and chased him all the way to Spagettie Junction where he threw it into the embankment. Theif nicked Land Rover recovered to a salvage yard in Brum collected and repaired. It blew up a few weeks later it had been thrashed to death. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.
