lightbar recommendations
My RI 40" LED Light Bar has arrived in the UK and is currently waiting for me to collect Very Happy

I'm looking for a low profile bar to fit on the roof to hold my LED light bar.

Any recommendations ?

Not sure if I want to bolt / clip or glue to the guttering

Also interested in how you have fed the power back into the truck

You should carefully consider how the bar is fastened to your defender. (and the LEDbar to the profile bar)
I'm sure you forked out a lot of dough on it and just being held on with the odd screws or even clipped on it's very easy for a thief to steal.

thanks Bob and all,

the fourplus4 one looks promising, I'll contact Brian. do you have that one Bob ?

I'm keen on bolting through the guttering but my main consideration is having it very low profile, so that it is no higher than the top of the roof, so I'm planning on mounting directly above the windscreen.

Didn't get one in the end Steve as I decided no matter how many lights I strap on the front it would make no difference with my eyesight Laughing

BP, I can not recommend Fourplus 4 in Leeds more highly.

Andy a partner in Four plus made the twin light bar on our red 110. Andy is good at fabricating so tell him exactly what you want and he might well be able to custom make one for you.

That sounds an excellent idea. Would also reduce the chances of some seriously expensive damage in multi-storey car parks and similar. This may sound daft but perhaps one could mount the roof bar upside down and as far forward as possible such that the actual light bar is below the roof line.

Steve - before you buy a mount for your LEDS suggest you have a look at my set up when we meet in a couple of weeks time. I have mine pendant mounted below the rack

The RI unit you have has both a central 'beam' section and the outer 'flood' sections - these create a serious amount of off-axis light which could be an issue with reflections on bonnet etc

I mounted mine to the roof rack a few inches back from the front edge of the roof/window corner to help shield the bonnet from the full glare

For those wishing to have a low profile mount (ie ahead of the screen) then the RI model has quite long heat dissipating fins sticking out the back - the whole thing is about an index finger in length

PS - have you turned them on yet Cool
