Roof tent on a Geniune Expedition Roof Rack.
As the title says, for those that have a genuine roof rack, like the one on the forum picture above.

How do you mount it? I'm guessing it won't fit inside, so would have to go across the top? Craig Rogers

You need to fit the roof tents with the hard top that lifts up
And not the ones that fold out unfortunately as the front bar stops it from folding out.

There was an article on this in landrover international magazine a while ago on a g4 challenge 110.

They've got them at www.autohome-uk.com
And are called Airtop

Hope this helps

Steve

Hi Steve
You can cut the bar at the back of the rack so it fits inside and can then fold out or you have to place supports on the top of your rack so it sits above. The makers of roof racks mostly only have bars at one end so you can fit roof tents inside and they can still fold out. The landrover one need mods if you want a folding tent.

Steve Thumbs Up

You could mount some regular roof bars so that they sit on top of the side rails of the LR rack, secured with U bolts. It would make it a long way up though, both for the ladder and centre of gravity.

I had a similar problem when trying to mount my Ozpod and, in the end, I sold the rack and bought roof bars instead. Darren
