Top tip to deter Defender door theft
Owing to recent incidents of door and bonnet thefts from Defenders, i was looking at various replacement door hinge bolts without much success Crying or Very sad

Whilst pondering the idea with me, a workmate got out his vernier, had a measure and said "Why dont you just superglue a 5mm ball bearing into the head of each bolt"?

Bloody brilliant ! Cool

We did a loose bolt as a test, and it proved dam near impossible to remove the bb owing to snugness of fit and shape.

Mine now all have a 5 mm bb in place .... might not be foolproof, but makes it one hell of a job to unbolt, looks pretty tidy too Thumbs Up

Just make sure you 'nip' the bolts up tight first, if a door hinge comes loose afterwards you'll be hard pressed to do anything about it Whistle Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

I like the idea, but the prospect of drilling out all those ball bearings/bolts in 10-15 years time when the hinges wear out would rather put me off!

Suppose you could just do one on each side of each hinge.

A good idea but hardly original - it's been on this forum more than once before.
