Just ignore it Andrew and post away. If people ignore "this is not for you" and comment negatively anyway, who's the moron?

So what is the point of being in this forum if we are not entitled to an opinion? A bit of a fascist attitude you are having. The whole point of the DC100 was to inspire debate and discussion. Land Rover wants to know what people want and like.

Right, when Andrew started the thread he made it clear it was not for people who didn't like it. So your point is totally moot. And to address me as a fascist shows that you don't know what the word means.

Further, I'm sure LR wants to know what opinion is but do you think reps from LR read this forum? I very much doubt it. There are many other threads about the vehicle where there is a lot of debate, I suggest you post on those rather than hijacking this one with the usual nonsense.

So its not replacing the Defender then. Thank the Gods for that!

It will be interesting to see what does happen in the end, the Autocar article does sort of confirm what many of us are thinking; it's a nice enough concept, but is it a Defender replacement. So if they do make it as a baby land rover (built on the freelander platform), like the evoque is a baby range rover, where does that leave the Defender? Is it doomed or will the disco replacement and it's underpinnings be the basis for a true defender replacement - design one platform for both commercial variants and lifestyle ones too?

I get a lot of satisfaction from the "look" of things but get equally riled when i see something that is just an abortion of design. I sometimes wish I could just go out and buy a UPVC front door and not be bothered by it, it would be cheaper than a lovely weathered old oak one!

Think Bentley Blower, think Aston Martin Zagato, Jaguar XK120, a utilitarian classic Defender, Maserati Ghibli, a a Nicholson yacht, a Ducatti etc , anything with good cohesive design that stands the test of time.

There is no arguing that the DC100 just doesn't come anywhere close to it. For the first time in 60 years an opportunity to design something breathtaking, and staggeringly impressive has been waisted. Instead they have gone down the easy mediocre route which any one of us could have knocked up in an afternoon on paper Rolling Eyes If the Discovery had been designed to take over the Defender I would have been happy with that - It's a bloody good looking motor, so was the RR Rolling Eyes

We should meet some day. We are going to be best friends...

That auto car article seem to suggest the obvious , that the DC100 could be built on the freelander/gaylander platform , makes sense because it looks like one now and could be in production in no time . Maybe Land Rover could sponsor hairdresser of the year , giving away a DC100 to the winner ????

When I requested civility, it was not an invitation to carry on.

Some people like the DC100, others don't. Constructive discussion is welcomed, but if you only want to argue and insult continuously, go elsewhere.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
