Have you thought about a expedition rack. I have just got a patriot which I can carry bikes on. I will throw them on, but I expect you could get some nice holders for it, and you can climb up into it with a ladder so it's easy.

We have one that hooks over spare wheel and rear door can still be opened even with bikes on (just)

I've got a 4 bike Maxxraxx on my 110. Can just lower it enough to open the door with the bikes still attatched. Very happy with it.
Wow just seen that they are £200 now. I paid £147 in October. Thats some price hike!  Rich

Can't say for sure. Measure how far your spare wheel protrudes and I will measure my maxxraxx and let you know.

Depends how many bikes you want to carry. If it's only two then I can recommend this one from Fabbri Gringo. Fits very securely to the spare wheel, is easy to load without messing about with bungees or similar and allows the back door to open fully.
 Click image to enlarge If you want to put them on the roof then the Thule 591 carrier is the weapon of choice. I had four mounted on roof bars and loaded them with an aluminium hop-up, as shown in the picture below. Even loading my relatively heavy electric bike was quite easy in this way. Mine from my old profile and defender... I had the ball mount removed and bars added which dropped into a plate mounted on the step bumper tow ball points. Why? So that wide bars did not smash the rear window! It also meant with one quick lift (having removed the pins) it was off... It also meant with bikes of the rear door would open.
I still have the rack but stupidly left the mount on expecting the purchaser to remove it and post it back... Oh we'll worked perfectly |

Click image to enlarge I put a bungee around the bikes so they don't swing down onto the ground when you hinge the carrier down. You get great access to the back with the maxxraxx.
