larger fuel tank
hi all
does anyone know if a larger fuel tank can be fitted to the 07 defender? feel the standard tank is a little small and range of 280mils between fills is not that good. Cheers

Laughing Greg & I would probably beg to differ!

There was an option of a second tank for the 50th - James French offered one with a double filler neck - so you still only have the one fuel cap. This was for petrol, but I'm sure the same could be done for diesel.
As I remember the 2nd tank is smaller than the main, but maybe up to 2/3 the size...

PS - It's coming back to me now - I think it involved repositioning the battery box from under the passenger seat, and fitting the 2nd tank there - you then have a pump switch on the dash to top up the main as it empties - so no 2nd guage required etc.

I am not too sure about the 90s but you can get tanks that sit in the rear wings of the 110s.

Have you tried somewhere like this? http://www.safari-equip.co.uk/index.php?page=4. Maybe message them to see if they either have one or are getting ones in for the TDCi.

Fuel Tank
Hi,

I have the 'FrontRunner' aux tank fitted to my 110 Tdci, fitted under the rear wheel arch between the filler and the main tank, but I don't think they make one to fit the 90.

Devon 4x4 supplied my tank to give them a call.

(Safari Equip took 3 weeks to reply to my enquiry...)

Cheers, Rick.

I have a frontrunner aux tank fitted to my 90. the tank sits under the drivers side and has a separate filler just behind the drivers door.

45 litres. The tank has a separate pump which pumps fuel from aux into main. I believe I am still able to install a third tank under the passengers side to! Land Rover's don't leak oil, they simply mark their territory!

Keith has an auto box, which won't help the mileage One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Andrew & Allisport i think is the best option, he has a puma of his own that he has already fitted a second tank to.

As Pete said give Andy a call at Allisport , they can make any shape tank you need Thumbs Up
I`ve just fitted one on my 110 dc that i made there, it fits under the passenger rear arch and has a separate pump to transfer to the main tank as need.
