Help with the winch installation
Well,
I have with me the Tabor 9K winch and tomorrow the bumper will be installed.
So, probably during the weekend I will proceed with the electrics.
Any tips /Instructions that I should be consider?

Thanks in advance! Eduardo

I would hide the selenoid box (or whatever the name is) and the cables as much as you can.
Stainless steel bolts and some kind of security device (nuts) for Chilean purposes Smile
.......and do not loose the remote control, you might need it.

Don`t forget to mention it to the insurance Puma 110" SW

Thanks MK

Is already installed the winch and looks quite well Mr. Green .
Finally we decide to put the control box (solenoid) outside but with lock nuts. So will take at least some time to take out.

Cheers Eduardo

Bit late now as youve installed it.

But on my 90 we mounted the control box in the seat box and a key operated cut out switch on the rear bulkhead - (out of sight out of mind). the cables we just routed along the chassiss leg.

I intend to fit a kill button on the front bumper at some point but as (thankfully) im never in a position to require the winch solo its not urgent.

I highly recomend at least 1 kill switch - it really could be worth its weight in gold. If it aint broke its just waiting.

Thanks El CyD,

The other possibility was install it inside the bonnet but I dont like it.
By the way maybe in the future I will modify it. Inside the box dont looks a bad idea.
I have one kill switch but due the time was not possible to install, but for sure I will do it.

Cheers Eduardo

I looked at that, scratched my head, stood back, looked some more and thought. Were the hell would that fit under the Puma bonnet?

The only two places I could come up with was removing the solenoid pack's cover and somehow wiring it in behind the driver's side headlamp or to the top of the plastic guard under the false air intake on the drivers side wing. This was for a Warn 9.5 XDC so the solenoid pack is all solid state. 110 2.4TDCi

Yes the motor bay is quite crowded!!

I know that the dealer here install it in this way but due the modification needed to do that (longer cables, how to manage the remote control connection, etc.) I give up.

Well anyway looks quite good in the front.

Cheers Eduardo
