To me it looks like more of a 'big brother' replacement me of the original 3 door Freelander, which was marketed as a 'lifestyle' 4x4, rather than a replacement for the workhorse Defender.

yep the 110 version with normal wheels and no fancy embellishments mightn't be that bad. Don't really care though. I'm happy with what I've got

I understand it, and its inkeeping with the rest of the range, kinda funky - I quite like it. But I fail to see the ruggedness or utilitarianism of the Defender. If you damaged it it would soon start to look cack imo, whereas battle scars on a Defender are part of its character. Aftermarket spares/accessories/back up?? More a lifestyle vehicle as previously mentioned rather than a tool, unless they can knock 'em out for less than 20,000 otr Whistle when they become disposable! I'm thinking more Judge Dread than Father Ted

I personally don't like the soft top as it would be lacking functionality in the space department for me. To be controversial I do in fact like the other one, I think it's quirky and the styling is nice with nice touches such the rack inbuilt roof lights and the snorkel styling that also goes well with the rack.

Will need to see one in the flesh but am looking forward to it. As with any advancements there will be individuals who are inherrantly resistant to change, I shall keep an open mind, if I don't like it I am not going to be forced to get get one and shall keep the one I am currently happy with. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!
