	I have had a similar issue and traced it back to a faulty connection on the fuel pump relay. Other symptoms were no engine or glow plug lights with ignition on, engine cranks but never starts.

	Do your speakers have the dimple in the centre of the mesh grill? There is an amp for the Alpine sub but I thought that was only for the sub itself.
