No check engine light or any other indication of something going wrong apart from the momentary loss of power and sudden needle spike and return.

Had that happen too.
Would recommend anyone with a PUMA to switch the intercooler inlet hose with a silicon one as soon as possible.

Decided not to change the ignition relay.

Fully agreed on insisting on LR Genuine parts for critical replacements.

If it was done by the stealers I'd suggest taking back immediately. Newer LR clutch assemblies shouldn't rattle, especially that new.

@Doc P: The best bit was they hadn't refitted the engine cover!!! The wife took in back in and they re-fitted the air intake grille and the engine cover with copious apologies!
