Scam
I just had a call from India wanting access to my computer so they could fix a problem.
Said he was Windows Service Centre and wanted me to download and run teamviewer.com.
Would have given him free access to my computer 24/7
The info he already had on me could easily come from the phonebook.
Told him what to do with this request.
I then checked with the Windows website.
This is a worldwide SCAM that sounds quite genuine. Don't get caught.
Microsoft never phone customers.

Unfortunately getting more and more of them, I know of two people that were called.
One friend called me while her husband was on the phone to them asking if it was genuine.
With help desks all over the world a lot of people think it’s genuine. 110XS CSW TD5.

I had one of these on the phone for about 15mins last week. I told him I was using a 9600baud modem and it would take at least 30min to download the teamviewer player....

I like stringing them along for as long as I can if I have time to kill.... after all, they are dialing internationally so it's costing them a mint.... 2013 Aintree Green 110 Station Wagon SX

John,

Thats great news, I'm sure you'll be very pleased with the car (its a lovely colour, a little more royal than the popular grey colour every man and his dog opts for).

If you could arrange for the first £3,500 to be delivered to my works address Barclay House, Colmore Row, Birmingham, B3 2BH, the united kingdom.

I eagerly await this monies so dat I can forward some to your shipping company (its all very exciting).

Thank you very much for the extra £100 for my troubles - to save you lots of inconvenience I will fill the tank will fuel for its long journey (so you don't have to keep stopping on the way to Somolia via China's docks.

have a beutiful day were ever you are (I understand its a great time of year to visit the jungle - which is why I bought the Land Rover in the first place).

I lookforward to recieving all your money soon and further instructions.

Thanks for your prompt response,I will like you to know that I have had informations about your car and i promised to purchase it from you .

So first of all I will like you to please put this car off advert to avoid interrruptions from other buyers as I will want you to count it sold,ok.

Due20to my condition of payment,i will conviniently pay £19200.00 for it .

i will send you a cheque/Bankers draft of £3,500.00 .

You will deduct £1,000.00 as a deposit for it which is non-refundable.

You will send £2,500.00 to shipping agent asap the cheque has cleared. I was informed by him that, he will need the money for shipping in advance at least a weekend before i will be in Uk

The remaining balance of £18300.00 payed into your bank account or by cash before it can be pick up.i will be waiting for 48hrs for you to confirmed the balance before the shipping agent can picked up it .

You need not to worry as our prepaid shipping Agent will come to pick it up from your base for shippment asap the balance has been confirmed by you .the reason for this shippment method is as a result of the conjestion at the singapore seaport, which does not make it directly shippable there.

I will compensating you with £100 for the time involve in paying the shipping agent and also want you to withdrawl the advert.

confirm this and provide name, address and Mobile phone number for cheque/Bankers draft payment to be delivered to you .I look forward to a successful transaction with you and await your urgent response.

There is a forum dedicated to the 419 scam, and other internet based scams: https://www.419eater.com/

To say that some of the string-alongs are humorous would be fair.

It's not costing them anything other than their time to call, maybe a local call cost at most. Power of Internet calling.
