I've done a bit of digging around on here and I noticed that a few people have moved from the STT Pro to other tyres quite quickly, are they quite difficult to live with? 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

They have more hum and a shorter life than KM2's have, at least so I've heard. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

They certainly look great! But I've read they're quite noisy. James

I had a set on my 110. Excellent off road, decent on road but noisy and rumbly especially above 50.

If its a daily then go for STMaxx if not then great tyres. Instagram @defender_ventures

Probably a lot of other things to factor in for noise levels, but I had KM2’s in 265/75r16 and got about 80-90k out of them before selling them on. Moved over to 285/75r16 STT Pro’s and find if anything the noise is less. Done about 30k so far with about 20%wear so in theory should be on par wear wise.

Big noticeable difference though is grip. Very similar on road but big improvement on wet grass/mud. Would certainly not go back to KM2’s, but may try KM3’s when I get about half worn.

Big drawback to STT’s though(I’ve got STT on a Disco2 and the PRO’s on a 110) is longevity in the aesthetics side. They start to look tatty long before BFG’s.

Just my pennies worth from experience rather than hearsay👍

I'll echo the above

I went from BF muds to the Coopers and if anything I noticed a drop in road noise. If had KO2s in the past and can't say they're much louder so far

They are so much more capable than either of the BF tyres though. They were absolutely unstoppable in the snow over the winter

Plus they're a bit cheaper too 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320

I love my Cooper Zeon LTZ which replaced BFG AT's...

Much better on road, for the little offload I've done no drama either.

i have 265 75 16 STT Pro's on regular boost alloys i only bought them because of the looks and love them. I dont have a lot to compare them too though sorry . I guess they probably rumble a bit at higher speeds but then the car is noisy anyway so if i was doing a lot of miles id probably have road tyres on it to start with.

Oh i had to adjust my steering stops which was a pain as one snapped off and now i have the turning circle of a large shipping container.

Got 265/75/16 STT on mine also, would definitely buy them again and will now not buy BFG as they always seemed to perish before wearing out

Compared to the GG ATs i had before, they are a little bit less precise in feel, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Noise wise there is a bit of light road whine at 40 which is drowned out by wind noise by 50. I love mine and they do look superb!
