285/75 R16 AT Tyre Options - Nokian vs. BFG ATKO
Hi All

I'm looking to swap out my BFG KM2s for some AT tyres, but as nobody makes ATs in 255/85s going up to 285/75s...

Shopping round for prices, I've found the following options:

BFG ATs - the obvious choice. Cheapest I can find them is £165 each fitted (at ATS, of all places!) - £825 all in for 5
Hankook Dynapro ATs - £122 not fitted - £710 for 5 (allowing £20/ea for fitting)
Nokian Rotiiva AT - £107 not fitted - £635 for 5 (allowing £20/ea for fitting)

There's a pretty big jump between the Nokias and the BFGs - searching it seems there's been a few people running these Nokians on here, does anyone have any comments on how good they are, how noisy etc, or if I'm better off just stumping up the extra cash for the ATKOs!

Thanks

Jon

I have no experience of the Nokians, only the BFG ATKOs...

They are worth every penny...

Like you I baulked at the cost too, but have lived with them for 12 months now and they are just superb. I also chose the 285/75/16s...

Thanks Smile

I know loads of people run the ATs, but obv wanted to check that there's nothing newer/better out there before I stump up the extra Smile

I have Cooper STmaxx in 265/75.

They're good, quiet, grip well in most scenarios that I've had them in, and seem to be wearing well. I'll probably go back to BFG when I wear them out though!

Thanks. ST Maxx come in at £157 a corner + fitting, so probably work out more than the BFGs...

Looks like you can get 5% Quidco cashback at ATS as well so that drops the price a bit more...

I run 265 KO2's and love them. Have you considered Cooper AT3's, they look too road biased for me but get good AT write-ups. James

Hi

Doesn't look like Cooper do the AT range in 285's....

Cheers

Wow, the main reason I went for them was because performance was reputed to be comparable to a BFG and they were about £20/corner cheaper!
