10AS immobiliser question
Hi everyone

So I got my EKA code and tried the procedure for disabling the immobiliser, and it seemed to work, the Immobiliser light was flashing to show activated, and after the procedure it extinguished, can I now assume that once that is done, the immobiliser is completely deactivated, so if there is still a starting issue, it is something else, but not th immobiliser? Someone mentioned crank sensor in one of the other many Puma not starting threads, is that still a sensor via the immobiliser, or will that prevent starting in another way?

Thanks

The eka code does not turn the immobilisef off permanently, you have to use it every time.

Having read of your problems in your other thread I strongly recommend that you turn off the passive immobiliser using a diagnostic tool to see if that solves the problem and to narrow down the problem area.

Yeh just deciding wether I get another nanocom after I sold mine years ago, or the gap Bluetooth one, the nanocom seems to do slightly more like eka details etc, but I like the idea of iPad or iPhone programming with the gap tool.

The GAP tool can also show you these details now. They do get upgraded from time to time so be sure to check.

And yes, using an smartphone or tablet is quite convenient and you aren't limited by a wire attached to the OBD to do your thing, you just have to be within a reasonable range. Pretty good on very hot days with the sun beating down on you.

I had a quick PM with PatGAPInnov who I think makes the Gap tool, but not 100% sure and he said the EKA code info (and possibly other info like that) are not read by the tool.
