Rough starting now cutting out
Got (another) problem with my td5, started off as a bit of a rough idle or needing a little rev when starting which within a a week or so progressed to letting the fuel pump run for 15secs before cranking then needing a purge before starting now it’s a pig to get going with loads of cranking and right foot in a cloud of smoke at which point I can go about half a mile before it cuts out. Fuel pump screams the whole time regardless of how many purges I do (after market louder than genuine but both scream)

Things i’ve Tried
Red plug clean
New filter
New genuine air bleed valve
Swapped fuel pump
Cleaned and refitting all filter housing elements

FPR and filter head less than 2months old one of the pumps is also only a couple of months old. I had seals and washers done about 3 months ago but based on the symptoms appear the likely culprit.

Can I check the injector clamp torques without removing the camshaft? And does anyone have any suggestions of other things to check

Good day DDP Smile

Sounds very much like the washers on the injectors.
I had exactly the same, but when replaced the washers she's been as good as gold Thumbs Up
I bought the kit from Dingocroft in HIGH Wycombe, and did it in our workshop !

Make sure your get the genuine washers though hey ?? and keep it spotless when to do them Wink

Hope that helps Rolling Eyes
