F1 Silverstone.
It all started last year when they announced that next year ( 2018 ) that it " might " be the last race at Silverstone due to the great loss of money holding the event, so i had a talk with my oldest daughter about going to the F1, she is motor sport mad like me, so just in case it was the last one, well, she jumped at the chance.
So as i mentioned in Millie's thread that we are going for a little trip, we are going to Silverstone to watch the F1 for the first time ever and we are going for the the full 4 days so that we can experience the whole lot and to top it all we have won a pit walk on the Thursday as well, we are both well chuffed and getting very excited Very Happy Very Happy
So we are travelling up on the Thursday and we are coming back home on the Monday, we are are staying in one of the camp site's close to the circuit.

Is anyone else going ?

clayton, it will cost you a Censored bomb! As they really do hack the prices up for the F1. There is a sweet little camp site on the main road like going to brackely. Me and my dad stayed there on our visit to the BTCC a few years ago.
The sliverstone café was cheaper than the burger vans too and better quality Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

We shall spend the 4 days dodging traffic - Live in Towcester and work in Brackley so my daily commute is down the A43 which, of course, is shut to through traffic on the Friday!

Hope the weather stays good for you, it’s a belting event and you’ll have a fabulous time!

Yep we're going, my lad is mad keen of F1 and I promised to take him, so we're booked into the Family camping area at Woodlands. It's not really my thing but it's only the 2 of us so it should be great 'lad and Dad' time.

Not sure I'll be taking the Landy that depend on the weather forcast. If it honks down I might be able to pay for the tickets by towing people out ! Wink

Only when he doesn’t win...

... or get the first tyre change..

... or finish...

... or bangs his knee on a left hand corner (or sometimes on a right hand corner...)

... or is his helicopter gets held in a holding pattern on the way into the circuit...

... or he’s offered brown sauce instead of ketchup

Crybaby - definitely! Shame as he clearly has talent but just no humility to go with it - Riciardo was a complete comparison and a joy to watch by comparison!

Yep, I’m there on Saturday for qualifying courtesy of BRDC. I’ve never been before so really looking forward to it. It *could* get quite messy.

Glad you enjoyed it Clayton!

I've got to say Woodlands Family Camping was much better than i expected. Proper flushing loos, showers well organised and quiet too. Plus you could walk over to the lively camping area to see the bands, go to the pub etc

All in all a great experience.

Bloody hell, its not that old! I know they did away with a grand stand for the college or something, Which I think was the main one for the kick off. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
