The Sahara, In Amenas, Algeria
I have seen a few old Land Rovers in the desert, usually literally in the middle of nowhere but never manage to take a photo. Spotted this one, Series 3, 109 pick up? Whilst driving through In Amenas today.
The thing that amazes me is the vehicles are owned by Tuaregs, 1000s of Kms from any dealership or source of parts but still trundling around the desert. It was 54c today in the shade!

Gets the chassis sand blasted every sandstorm and no road salt or moisture to content with!

All moves are with armed Gendarme escort, it does feel safe, but you never know!

Honestly its "dry" heat, no humidity which makes it much more bearable.
