The LR dealership network is a joke. My 2015 90 was battered every time it went in for a service or warranty work. It always came out with damage that wasn’t there when it went in, and the service department always had some excuse.
On two occasions it went in for work that was never actually done. I was informed when I went to collect it that there had been an “administrative errror”.
As much as I miss that 90; at least I don’t have to worry about the service department, now that I have a battered td5.

So... Some progress.... LR have decided the roof needs replacing.... However, It now has to go to Perth (different bodyshop)... LR won't pay the transport costs... So I've told the dealer to drive it there.... However, I've also asked that they do the 2nd service FOC, Since they've had it 6 months now and their the ones doing all the driving in it!!.... The Dealer has agreed to replace the hubs, Bolts etc etc as they are responsible for the damage to those.... So, fingers crossed I might get it back ready to put into storage for the winter again!!!... Arghhhhh

If you are going to Pentland Perth they have their own bodyshop. My previous Defender had some corrosion repairs there and they did a great job. Unable to see the repairs, car spotless, and they also resprayed the rear crossmember without my asking, as"it looked a bit shabby".
Hope you get yours back as you want it.

Just a quick update

Still waiting... Supposedly the bodyshop in Perth is "very busy"...... Dealer won't commit to finishing it any time soon... Neither LR or the dealer will give me a loan car....
It's pretty Censored poor really... I took my truck in to them last October and it's now mid June.... LR haven't contacted me for months and the dealer has to be chased weekly to keep things moving....
We where thinking of buying a Xf estate or maybe the New Defender (if they ever actually make one)... However, After this experience. I would personally advise anyone not to buy any JLR product... It maybe well designed or made... However if it goes wrong the company just aren't interested in fixing it... Your treated with what seems to be 1970's BL customer service levels....

Regards

What a nightmare! Pentland Perth seem pretty uninterested in warranty work on defenders, must be too busy servicing Range Rovers...

I saw this modification and thought of you!

So, Back into the dealer today as I was passing... Bodyshop manager has left, No one knew anything about my 90... After an hour of, "we're just trying to contact x" they said that they think it's still at the bodyshop in Perth... Someone will have to get back to me tomorrow... Well, we're just about to rack up 8 months without a vehicle... Surely there must be some re-course???

Any suggestions or help welcome

Regards

So... Friday, I got a call from the dealer, then the bodyshop... The roof that was available 3 months ago is now no-longer available... 6 weeks lead until one will be available... we're rapidly approaching 9 months without the 90... JLR and its dealerships (sorry retailers) are a joke... The (new) panel shop seemed genuinely shocked that it's taken so long... He also said that they've had to bring it inside as people keep asking if it's a real Bowler and is it for sale...

Any bets on JLR giving it me back when the warranties run out (1 nov 2018)

I think you need to sort legal advice its gone on far to long and your been fobbed off
its done in the motor trade a lot they think you will get fed up . even though its gone on so long you need to give them a date you expect the car back all work completed telling them that if not you will start legal proceedings

not sure what you do for a living but if your in a union they may be able to help you I hope I gets sorted for you

Well Nov the 2nd and I'm on my way to see if it's fixed properly... JUst over a year now... So hoping it's ok... Probably still to argue with them about additional damage whilst in their care...

Wish me luck!!!

I suggest you get onto your local trading standards office. I found them very helpful when I had initial warranty problems.

It is your local office you need to contact and not that of the dealer.

OK... So delaer are hassling me to drop the 90 back... They have serviced it and put a mot on it... However, I've lost a years worth of ownership and the warranty has now expired, The steering wheel is damaged, either through uv or its had some chemical reaction... Or possibly been cooked like every rubber seal was....
I'd like to speak to someone at LR about this, But their not interested...

Where to from here guys?
