Is my TD5 haunted
My TD5 won't start. I thought it was the fuel pump. I changed it but it didn't work. The pump is not making the right noises. When running the 'purge cycle' (which didn't sound right either) I noticed that he nearside indicators (front rear and side) and nearside brake light are cycling on and off. I think it must be haunted. I'm at a bit of a loss. I checked for oil in the ECU - its clean. My initial thought is that there must be damage to the wiring loom ( I can't think of anything else that would connect lighting circuits to fuel pump operation but do the wirings share acommon path ?. Any suggestions welcome. Just before it died, the 'water in the fuel light' was flickering. I'd had the tank off recently and had assumed that I had disturbed the connection to the sedimenter and chose to ignore it. Don't think its the fault, but could be related - thought I'd best give the full picture if I'm asking for help. And I am. Please help !

Maybe an earthing problem. And check tow bar wiring for mud/water/bad connections. Ray

Thanks. Tow bar wiring sounds like a good lead as all the wires are hidden away at the back there. I'll give it ago.

Demons have been exorcised and Blossom lives again. It was a loose earth on the side of the gearbox. I found it as I was about to start pulling the loom through the chassis for inspection. And on the bright side, I now have a spare fuel pump. Happy end to a good weekend Very Happy
